DARTS AROUND ESSEX – December 2004

Although it seems early to be writing this, Sheila and Kevin wish all darters, everywhere, a brilliant Christmas and a prosperous New Year.    Once again it is time to settle down over the holiday period to some terrific televised games of darts.  Will you be attending Lakeside or Purfleet or be snug in your favourite armchair with food and drink to hand?   Whatever way you view, it certainly is, for Darts, a great finale at the end of the year and starts the New Year of with a whoop!

VICKERS MARATHON FEAT!
Don Vickers completed the Dublin marathon in 4 hours 55 minutes back in October. Not as quick as his previous runs, however he was carrying a knee injury. Don collected a massive £1,862 in sponsorship, and wishes to thank all those who’ve supported him. The cheque was presented to the Chairman of “Hearts of Darts”, Ian Waller, at the Warwickshire county game. Ian also received a further £636.15 which was made up of money raised via other Essex ventures in recent months; £200 from Inter-league tournament, £300 from the Charity Golf Day / PDC signed dartboard auction and £136.15 from Ingatestone & District Dart League’s presentation night raffle & trophy donation from Kevin Stammers.
