In
Brief: Alan was born in
1960 in the Harwich area and has played darts for Ind Coope for the past
twenty-six years. It wasn’t until 1997 that Alan tried his skills in
Super-league, playing for Colchester, Colchester New Town and is
currently a member of the Manningtree team. Alan has also played in the
Constable league for the Skinners Arms, where he won two Single’s
titles and six Pairs; In the Anchor Press & Anchor league he was a
member of the team that won the Championship on four occasions; also
played in the Colchester & District league. After many 24 years of
trying to win the Harwich & District Singles, Alan finally achieved
him ambition last season, and has retained the title again this year.
Alan’s greatest moment so far was winning the Pontins All-England
Singles at Prestatyn in 1996. Alan has had a great Super-league season
and was selected for the County Squad for the final game of the season,
however didn’t get a chance to show-off his skills, but I’m sure he
will be part of the squad and be given the chance next season.
